Host-Pathogen Interaction Research Priority Focus

Emergence and reemergence of infectious agents pose a continuously increasing threat favored by climate change, increased migration of individuals and disease vectors, and accumulating drug resistance. To tackle these problems, understanding the complexity of host-pathogen interactions is essential. Within the Research Priority Focus Host-Pathogen Interaction (RPF-HPI) we perform research in seven domains.

The main aim of the RPF-HPI is to foster interactions between these domains towards an integrated and multidisciplinary research approach able to find innovative solutions for animal and human health problems related to infectious diseases and drug resistance.

The Department of Infectious Diseases and Pathobiology organizes seminars within the Host-Pathogen Interaction Focus. The seminars are given by invited and internal speakers at the Animal Hospital of the Vetsuisse Faculty in Bern. Guests are welcome.
